DATE:
Thursday, December 12

TIME:
10:00 am – 11:30 am

SESSION TRACK:
Got GaaS?

SPEAKER(S):
Ellena Schoop
Enterprise Data Architect/Sr. Data Governance, Minnesota IT Services

In recent trends in government, we think about streamlining services to our citizens, but we don’t think about what that means to the data — the ability to share or not. The infrastructure to protect data or not. The legal and often times, outdated policies on sharing data. Though there are issues at both the Federal and State level, there are also so many success stories, strategies and new approaches that we can incoporate where appropriate.

 In this session, attendees will hear about national and statewide approaches, exploring both proven successes and failures. From your analytics to your data swamp strategy, this presentation will be interactive and practical, with a special focus on providing techniques on how to develop data governance strategy through a cybersecurity lens.

Learning Objective:

  1. Learn strategies and approaches to data sharing and data governance, and come away with an action list that can be applied in their real-world.
  2. Understand key leadership and data roles and how to intersect.
  3. Discover how to make the case for new and emerging data roles through the cybersecurity lens.
