Blockchain is the technology underpinning Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. However Bitcoin is just one implementation of Blockchain. It can be used and configured for many other applications across various industries. It has a tremendous potential to reduce the time required to complete business processes and transactions involving multiple disparate organizations, ultimately leading to reduced costs of operation while also promoting trust and security with cryptography.

This session will provide an introduction to Blockchain technology and related information, which will be useful for your considerations for adopting this technology at your Organization. The following topics will be covered:

  • What is Blockchain? (Introduction and overview)
  • Types of Blockchain Networks
  • Example Use Cases
  • Considerations for Selecting Use Cases for Blockchain implementation
  • Brief introduction and overview of Hyperledger, the open source technology for Blockchain and IBM’s offerings in this regard.
