Learner Voice: Who, What, Why, Where, When, and HOW?
120 Minute Virtual Session
Learning Pathway: Equity
Young people have wisdom about how school policies and practices impact their everyday life. Educators have wisdom from experience and training as educational professionals. By working together, this session will help identify educational inequity, the policies and practices that alienate and marginalize, pedagogy to best engage students, and what the educational experience could be in the future.
Learning Objective 1: Participants will be able to proactively plan for supports to integrate authentic learner voice and leadership into educational decision-making processes.
Learning Objective 2: Participants will be able to describe the connection between student voice, agency and leadership, student achievement results, and genuine equity in a learning community.
Learning Objective 3: Participants will be able to customize at least one best practice to animate, elevate and amplify student voice in their learning community.
