Love, Hope & Support for Students of Color
90 Minute Virtual Session
Learning Pathway: Equity
Success has become a barrier for some students of color due to reactions to behaviors, attendance and lack of support. This session will address why this happens and what schools, in particular classroom teachers, can do to support students of color and give them the love, hope, and success they need to succeed in the school system.
Learning Objective 1: Participants will be able to understand why students of color are struggling to find success in our educational systems through inquiry and discussion protocols.
Learning Objective 2: Participants will be able to understand that our own biases and perspectives can be a hindrance to support students of color and will work with strategies to help break down the barriers
Learning Objective 3: Participants will be able to apply new learning about why love, hope, and relationships are necessary to help students of color succeed.
