Learning Pathway: Human Element of Assessment
From the inception of the MCAs, the effectiveness of schools in Minnesota has
primarily been defined by reading and math standardized test scores. However, student learning
encompasses so much more than content area achievement on one assessment. Come learn about the standards and assessments that are being developed to measure social emotional learning and student achievement of 21st Century Skills.
Learning Objective 1: Participants will be able to identify and discuss areas of student learning including and beyond content area achievement.
Learning Objective 2: Participants will be able to understand the various standards and assessment models being developed by Innovative Quality Schools.
Learning Objective 3: Participants will collaborate to build a network of other educators who are interested in expanding the use of diverse assessments in K-12 school settings.
