SYMPOSIUM SLAM
The Symposium Slam is a high-energy, fast-paced highlight of the GovIT Leadership Summit & Symposium. Symposium Slam presentations follow the Pecha Kucha format, a concise presentation style that uses 20 slides, each shown for 20 seconds.
The Symposium Slam will take place on the final day of the conference, Tuesday, November 10, 2026, during lunch. We will select 4-6 presentations for this year’s event.
Applications are due June 5, 2026, and selected presenters will be notified by the end of June. Presenters may speak on any topic relevant to leadership, innovation, public service, or personal insight, as long as the presentation adheres to the Pecha Kucha format.
What is Pecha Kucha?
Here’s a breakdown of the key elements:
- 20×20 Format: The core of Pecha Kucha is the 20 slides displayed for 20 seconds each, totaling 6 minutes and 40 seconds.
- Visual Focus: Presentations typically rely heavily on images and visuals, with minimal text on the slides.
- Concise Delivery: The 20-second time limit forces speakers to be concise and to the point, eliminating unnecessary details.
The presentation submission form is open and will close June 5. Speakers will be notified by the end of June.
