It is time for an update! CIO Leadership for Cities and Counties: Emerging Trends and Practices is the go-to textbook that many professionals in the government tech sector turn to when looking for insight to overcome the management, leadership, and operational challenges that impact how governments – and IT executives – deliver services to the public.

Much has happened since the second edition was published in 2016. Shifting technology priorities, a change in how technology is managed, competition for resources, an evolving technology workforce, and a higher profile within the organization require that today’s technology executive has the latest insight and the proper skillsets to be an effective leader.

CIO Leadership for Cities and Counties: Emerging Trends and Practices is utilized by university and professional certification programs. It is considered a leading resource for IT professionals, those aspiring to be a CIO, and of course – the CIO!

Published by Public Technology Institute, the textbook will be developed over the spring and summer of 2024, with publication in early 2025. This is a terrific opportunity to share your knowledge and experience and to help build future IT leaders.

About CIO Leadership for Cities and Counties: Emerging Trends and Practices (3rd Edition)
